If you have downloaded an apk application file from somewhere on Internet and tried to install it on your Android device it will show you can’t install it unless you enable this feature. So in case you’re wondering how to do that here is the how to for that. This is a pretty starlight forward technique.
- To allow non-market apps or applications which are not from Google Play Store you will have to go to the settings menu on your phone. Settings menu can be taken either from the app drawer or by tapping the menu button on your home screen and selecting Settings.
- Then goto Applications >> Unknown sources and enable it.
If you’re concerned about the security you can turn it back off after installing the app. Anyway to be on the safe side, please don’t install any apps which you get from untrustworthy sources.
