Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update Rolling Out For Galaxy S2 Plus Users From Germany

Galaxy S2 Plus Android 4.2.2 Update

Its not so often that you see a not so popular phone getting Android update before the update hits the really popular devices. Anyway this just happened in Germany. According to various reports Samsung is rolling out the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus users in Germany. That is when Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 users have to wait for the update. Currently the version of android operating system both devices are having is the Android 4.1.2 build of Jelly Bean.

But a few recent rumours have suggested that, Samsung might as well skip the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for both Galaxy S3 and Note 2 to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. If that’s the real case, this makes perfect sense. Otherwise I really don’t think this makes much sense. Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus isn’t a popular device nor does it have outstanding specs. It is actually identical to the Samsung Galaxy S2 itself in a lot of ways. Anyway now that Samsung has decided to give the android 4.2.2 update for Galaxy S2 plus, can we hope to get an update for Galaxy S2 too? We will have to wait and see about that.

Now when it comes to the update, it will bring you several new features to Galaxy S2 plus. Here are a few of the features it will be bringing:

  • Lockscreen widgets
  • Daydream screensaver
  • Several performance improvements
  • Some of the new features from Samsung Galaxy S4

If you live in Germany all you have to for getting the update is, connecting the phone to Kies and downloading the update in usual manner. We’re not sure about the other countries. So if you get the update please let us know by commenting below.
