Apple has finally released OS X 10.9.2 update for all Maverick users, which amongst other small things, patches the SSL bug. The bug was recently easily exploited by a security researcher, allowing him to gleam data from iCloud keychain and a software update.
This vulnerability not only affected those using Safari to browse, but also other applications which relied on using SSL to connect to the internet.
“Nearly all encrypted traffic, including usernames, passwords, and even Apple app updates can be captured.” according to Aldo Cortesi, CEO and founder of security consultancy firm Nullcube.
If you haven’t already, it is really recommend that you install this update as soon as possible.
