Patent’s are just one of those annoying things we as users have to put up with whilst the big companies throw around lawsuits and the like. We’d imagine however that this went a bit further than annoyance in Germany when Motorola shut down iOS push email in the nation for iPhones.
Apple has filed numerous pieces of boring paperwork (and a $135 million bond for good measure) which has allowed an interm decision to allow Apple to offer the push service once more whilst the issue is resolved in the courts. The only thing you need to do to get this feature on your iPhone again in Germany is to activate the ‘Fetch New Data’ from the ‘Mail, Contacts and Calendars’ settings pane.
