Cortana will be available only in the US at first, here is a trick to make it work anywhere

Microsoft Cortana

Microsoft announced its virtual assistant service Cortana a couple of days ago at the Build 2014 developer conference. The whole deal about Cortana is pretty impressive and I am sure that you guys and girls can’t wait to try it by yourself. But there is a small set back as Microsoft is planning to launch it only in the US as a first step. Until the second half of 2014, it will remain in the beta stage and after that it will be rolled out to the users from the UK and China. The rest of the world will have to wait until 2015 before you could even try Cortana officially.

But don’t be worried yet, there is this trick which can let you try out Cortana if you have Windows Phone 8.1 on your device. The part is to trick your device into thinking that you’re from the US. For this go to System, scroll down to region, and change it to the United States. Then reboot the device and you will see Cortana ready to work. Obviously this trick is for trying out things and would not be that useful if you’re planning on using it for everyday tasks as a lot of functionalities will be location dependent. See the video below on how to change the location to access Cortana.
