Facebook may already be tracking what you do online and using that to serve ads to you, but how would you feel if they tracked your movements? This scenario could be on the cards as Facebook confirmed that they have bought Moves, the fitness-tracking app that automatically records your daily activities using your smartphone.
Moves has said that it will join Facebook in order to “work on building and improving their products and services with a shared mission of supporting simple, efficient tools for more than a billion people.”
Facebook will be keeping the iOS and Android apps independent and the Moves team has said that there are no plans in place to “commingle data with Facebook”.
