Bored of waiting for your phone to charge from your power outlet? Sony thinks they have solved that problem. Sony have come up with a new wireless charging device, based on a forthcoming version of the Qi standard, which will put out 10-15 watts into your device, theoretically cutting your charging time down to an hour.
Such power normally would cause your phone to combust but the chip and power company, Rohm, promises that their new control chips will be able to handle the issues. However, we won’t be seeing such tech until the second half of 2014 unfortunately.
