For the last few years the art of photography has been taken up to new levels where more and more people are able to get involved. Even if you are not a professional photographer, with today’s technology you can easily pretend to be one and pretty effectively too if you ask me. That new trend led to the invention of more funny and weird types of photography. I’m pretty sure we can all agree that the funniest and weirdest of them all is the “selfie”.
Selfies have become a frequent and ordinary activity in our daily lives and sooner or later one big company would get that. This time It happened to be Sony. The big Japanese company is bringing to the markets a new smartphone that particularizes in taking selfies! It will be the new Xperia C4, a smartphone that is goes to the phablet family. The device has a 5.5inch screen with a 1920 x1080 resolution and runs smoothly with a Octa-Core Cortex-A53 processor. It’s RAM will be 2GB and the ROM will be 16GB with the ability to go up to 128GB using a microSD. The back camera is 13MP while the front is 5MP. Of course Xperica C4 couldn’t run with an OS other than Google’s Android (v.5.0) Lollipop.
The reason the new Xperia C4 is promoted as a selfies smartphone is because the front camera features an amblygonal lens for group photos while the device is equipped with the most advanced photos editing software for smartphones.
It is expected to be released in the European markets in the summer. Overall, it seems like a clever move by Sony but the question remains whether the whole selfie trend will be still a trend because if not, then a pretty good smartphone will be lost due to bad timing. Come to think about it, it is all about timing. However, Sony is the first and only one to make a selfies smartphone and for that we thank you. Good guy Sony!
