HTC First, the Facebook Phone and Facebook Home Goes Official

Yesterday we saw the Facebook Home event in which the first ever facebook phone from HTC, the HTC First and the official facebook android launcher called Facebook Home went official. The Facebook home launcher features cover feed which will show your friends’ statuses, posts, photos etc on your finger tips without the need open any applications. The phone which can be considered as the first ever phone made official for facebook has nothing so special about it except the facebook home launcher which comes out of the box for the phone.

Like any launcher the main purpose of the facebook launcher is too acting as an interface for your phone and the installed apps on your phone. Along with the normal features of a launcher, this facebook launcher does some more things which can be considered as pretty handy if you’re a hardcore facebook user. The new facebook launcher brings a lot of new features, here are some of the noteworthy features:

  • Tap and hold an image om cover feed to bring it to full screen
  • Double tap an image to like the picture.
  • Floating picture notification if you receive a message.
  • swipe and remove the notification.

Facebook Phone – HTC First:

If you saw the leaked picture of HTC first we posted a while ago, there isn’t much to see here, as it’s almost the same. Like you must have guessed the phone will feature Facebook’s newly launched Facebook Home Launcher which comes out of the box with this phone. The phone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset, dual core CPU, 1 GB RAM, 4.3 inch 720p display, 5 mega pixel camera and will come with the android version 4.1.2 jelly bean.

Both the phone and the launcher will be launched by April 12th. Anyway the launcher will not be available for all the phones yet. According to the information from the event the launcher will be available only for selected phones like Samsung Galaxy S4, S III and Note II and the HTC One and One X+.
