LA officials may delay iPad rollout after students hack them within a week

Just a week after the LA School District started the first phase of giving iPads to all 640,000 students in the state, they are already facing issues. In just a matter of days, 300 pupils at the Theodore Roosevelt High School managed to bypass the protective measures placed on the tablet and gice themselves access to Facebook, Twitter and the like. All of which should’ve been blocked.

The students managed to byass the security lock on the iPad by deleting a personal profile that was preloaded in the settings. This simple trick has had the school district police chief recommending that the board limit the rollout before it turns into a “runaway train scenario.”
