Now that Google’s Moto X, the ‘made in USA’ smartphone from Google’s Motorola almost here, this would be the perfect time for a rumour round up. Moto X a.k.a. Motorola Xphone will be announced in exactly one weeks time, but what does it have so special that Google has in its sleeve to compete against Samsung Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5S? We will see it here.
Moto X Rumoured Specs:
According to the rumours Moto X, Google’s latest flagship will feature a 4.5 inch 720p display, dual core 1.7 GHz Snapdragon processor, 16.32GN internal storage and will be powered by a 2200 mAh battery. The LTE phone will support NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and 802.11 ac WiFi connectivity. Here is the leaked Moto X specs list screenshot.
Moto X Camera Features:
The leaks say Moto X will feature a 10.5 mega pixel rear camera and a 2.1 mega pixel front facing camera. When it comes to the Camera there isn’t much special except the fact that you can activate the camera by twisting your phone using wrist twice. Twisting it twice will activate the camera even when the phone is locked, handy feature if you ask me.
Moto X Design:
Motorola has confirmed that Moto X will be customizable and will support a range of colours for the rear cover and the trim. The leaks, and that includes the one we saw in Eric Schmidt’s hands hints us about the design and its Kevlar body casing. Kevlar body casing is the one they used in their Motorola Droid line up which was recently announced. Here is a picture of the leaked casings’ photo.
Moto X Software Features:
When it comes to software features, we can definitely say its a feature rich device. The Motorola CEO has revealed that, Moto X will be Contextually aware all the time. That means, with the sensors it will be able to know when it is being taken out of a pocket, when you twist the phone to activate the camera and activate the phone by saying ‘Ok Google Now’ etc. The phone is in always listening mode which will save your time by not wanting to press a button to make it listen which will also help you to get a complete handsfree experience.
Another much anticipated feature is its camera interface, which looks like the one in Android 4.3. The recent leaks has confirmed the tap and capture feature by which you will be able to tap any where on the screen to capture a picture using the camera. Holding down the finger on the screen will take multiple pictures as long as you hold it down on the screen.
The phone will come with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean running on it. Some reports have claimed that the android comes with Moto X will be a near stock version. There is no word on when it will receive the latest android version, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but since Google owns Motorola, we guess it would happen pretty soon.
Moto X Price, Availability and Release Date:
A recent report from GottaBeMobile reveals that, the 32 GB version of Moto X will be priced at $349 off contract and the 16 GB version will come with a price tag of $299. Moto X will be unveiled on August 1st at a press event in New York City according to the words from Motorola. Many reports claim that Moto X will be available starting from August 23rd in US and Canada although it has not been confirmed officially. The only official word regarding the availability is it would be landing before the end of October.
