According to Lee Young Hee, executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile business, Samsung will launch it’s latest flagship device Samsung Galaxy S5 by April. The story was reported by Bloomberg from a January 6 interview.
[quote_box_center]“We’ve been announcing our first flagship model in the first half of each year, around March and April, and we are still targeting for release around that time,” Lee said. “When we release our S5 device, you can also expect a Gear successor with more advanced functions, and the bulky design will also be improved.”[/quote_box_center]
Iris scanner on Galaxy S5 – Still a possibility
According to her Samsung is planning to include Iris scanner as well along with Samsung Galaxy S5. but this has not been finalized since, they are still studying the possibility.

Lee also mentioned that the design will be different from the usual Samsung designs. Samsung Galaxy S4 was not well received byt he customers since its design was almost identical to the previous year’s Samsung flagship. According to her Samsung is going to try and change that this year.

Update: According to a report from Korean media, Galaxy S5 premium variant will have a mix of stainless steel and plastic instead of a full metal body. Samsung is rumored to be planning on release a standard variant and a premium variant of Galaxy S5. the standard variant is thgouht to be coming with a plastic body material.
