It seems like Samsung’s work with Tizen OS for smartphones is almost finished. According to a report from Wall Street Journal, Samsung is planning to launch their first ever Tizen OS smartphones in the so called emerging markets, India and Russia very soon. According to the report the announcement will happen within the next few weeks. Samsung had already introduced the Tizen OS through their smartwatches Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo. But no smartphone running on Tizen haven’t been launched or announced. Now if the news is to be trusted, the announcement will occur at the Unpacked event in Moscow which will be followed up with an Indian event for the same.
According the the famous leakster @evleaks Samsung is working on four different Tizen OS smartphones at the moment with the model numbers SM-Z500, SM-Z700, SM-Z900 and SM-Z910. Samsung is targeting the emerging markets such as Indian and Russia where they already have a huge smartphone market share and these markets are seeing growth in mostly the low-end and mid-range segment.
