Sony to Roll Out Jelly Bean updates for Sony Xperia P, Xperia Go and Xperia E Dual This Week

Sony has announced that Xperia Go, Xperia P & Xperia E Dual will be getting Jelly Bean Update starting from this week. The jelly bean update for these devices were awaited by a lot of customers since a long time now. The roll out is supposed to complete by the end of May.

The update will bring a handful of new features and some enhancements to the existing features to these smart-phones. The Sony media applications such as Walkman, Album and movies will be getting updates which will make them better according to Sony. Battery STAMINA Mode is a new feature Sony introduces in this jelly bean update. STAMINA mode is like a power saving mode which will close any unwanted apps when the screen is off, and starts them up when you switch on the screen. This mode is also fully customizable.

There are many improvements made to the way you can organize your apps too. For example application search in the application tray will help you in finding your favorite app faster. The launcher now supports folders also, you just have to drag any icon from the tray to another application icon and it will create a folder with both those applications.

With this update, Sony has increased the number of screen panes it supports on the home screen. Sony also introduces the re-sizable widget with this update. Sony also brings the Google Now with this update for the customers.

You will be able to get the update via the PC Companion or the Bridge for Mac. If you use Xperia E Dual or Xperia P, you might also be able to update via the phones software update feature. Sony has confirmed that the Xperia S, Xperia SL, Xperia ion and Xperia acro S will start receiving the jelly bean update starting from the end of May.
