Turkish prime minister accuses Twitter of tax evasion

prime-minister-erdoganThe Turkish prime minister’s plan for banning twitter failed after the court ruled the ban is a violation of freedom of speech. So now the prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is desperate and is saying that Twitter is doing shady and probably illegal deals in the country. He has even said that the government will now be going after the social media platform for finding about the tax evasion done by Twitter and implied that even Facebook and YouTube might be breaking the country’s laws.

This all started when someone leaked the controversial voice recording which apparently showed the corruption in the government. The ban on Twitter and YouTube was soon followed and was placed until the court said the ban violates the freedom of speech. According to Engadget there isn’t an official case against Twitter at this stage, so we’re not sure whether this will amount to more than just talk.
