Microsoft and Twitch today announced that Twitch is on its way to the Xbox One on March 11th. The release will allow players to stream their games online, use the chat services and much more.
Twitch said in their email, “Along with broadcasting functionality, the updated Twitch app for Xbox One gets an enhanced viewing experience as well – Chat, Following, and Notifications are all coming in the update. With so much new stuff, let’s jump right into the particulars.”
The feature will be pathched into the console for the US release of Titanfall.
“It’s complete integration,” Twitch CEO Emmett Shear told the AP. “It’s exciting because we’ve never had the ability to broadcast from a console like this with such a deep level of integration. The concept of being able to join a broadcasters’ party is really cool, and it’s another step in the direction of interacting more closely with broadcasters.”
It is pretty certain that Twitch will see an upturn in the amount of Twitch streams with the PS4 already responsible for around 10% of all Twitch streams.
