So INTEL created a new stick that can turn your TV or monitor into a computer that allows you to do anything you could imagine doing on your laptop or tablet. Browsing the internet, working, streaming and all other things you normally do on a PC, now available on your TV as well.
What follows though is quite amazing. Despite it’s size, that is no bigger than an ordinary USB stick, INTEL have managed to fit inside it a quad-core, which is literally better than most of the laptops most of us have used in our lifes. It’s RAM reaches 2 GB and it comes with 32 more GB of on-board storage space. The stick itself possesses a USB port, a micro sd slot and of course can connect directly via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
The compute stick is already gaining popularity, with many saying this is a turning point and it will have great effects to the further evolution of computer systems.
On the other hand this is not something we have never seen before. The use of a TV as a way to browse the internet was introduced to us through the so-called smart TVs, and is currently vastly known.
What INTEL is trying to do though is different, and let me tell you why. First of all, the compute stick is not bound to the TV or monitor, which means you can carry it anywhere you want and connect it to any TV you like. For those thinking “nah, so what?” try carrying your smart TV to your workplace or your office from your home and think again.
New Generation compute one device that transforms any HDMI display into a fully functional computer A solution with plenty of storage and performance needed for light productivity, social networking, web browsing, and streaming media, such as Netflix, Hulu, or games.
Secondly, when it comes to performance INTEL wins. Get your hands on a wireless mouse and keyboard and use your TV exactly the same way you use your computer. What I’m trying to point out is that the possibilities that the INTEL stick offers can not be compared to the stuff you can do on your TV.
And lastly, the price. The cost is a lot different when buying a brand new smartTV and upgrading the one you already have. A quick price comparison between any decent smartTV will show you what I mean Apparently, what INTEL is showing us is totally worth a shot. We all hope that it meets it’s expectations!
