WhatsApp update brings you new privacy settings and the ability to pay for your friends’ subscription

Whatsapp Android

WhatsApp for Android received an update today which brings the users a new privacy settings menu where you can set the privacy level by setting who can see your personal information. This include the the settings for the visibility of Last seen, Profile Photo & Status. You can also block the contacts from which you don’t want to receive any messages. Another interesting update is how you can pay for your friends’ subscription. It seems like you can simply choose a contact and pay for it.

There are a couple of other new features as well. The new update increases the message history, adds a shortcut for Camera and adds large thumbnails for video from within a chat. Another new feature is how you can tweak your “last seen” status and profile photo. However the interesting feature is how someone can pay for the subscription charges for their friends. WhatsApp is free for the first 12 months and after that it costs $0.99 per year after that.
