In case the fact that Windows phone is the third ecosystem in the smartphone industry didn’t sit easily with you, we have some more validation for you!

comScore’s report of the US smartphone subscriber market share found that whilst BlackBerry’s market share is on decline, Microsoft held its own and found itself in third place behind Android and Apple.

According to the report, Microsoft share of the market surpassed BlackBerry’s in the last quarter of 2013. Microsoft’s share remained steady at 3.2%, whilst BlackBerry lost 0.5% of their share alongside Android, whilst Apple gained 1%.

While this is only a small fluctuation in numbers, the slow but steady growth of Windows phone and the spiralling demise of BlackBerry, could indeed see the gap widen in 2014.
