A tweet from a source who is apparently close to Microsoft has suggested that Terry Myerson, Microsoft’s VP of Operating Systems, has decided to merge both Windows Phone and Window RT. However, this will not be a fast merge, it’ll require three GDR updates a year over a two year period. The moves to merge the Windows Phone Store and the Windows Store is already in motion and that merger should be complete by spring next year.
It is not known whether or not Microsoft are planning on merging the UI of the two systems together of it’ll keep the user experience different.
