Xiaomi has announced their plans to enter ten new markets this year at a press conference in Beijing.
Xiaomi will begin sales in countries with large but developing markets – countries such as India, Brazil, Russia, Mexico, Malaysia, The Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Turkey – and the move is part of the company’s plan for international expansion. Xiaomi have set themselves a goal to increase their sales five-fold to 100 million handsets by 2015.
Despite only entering the industry four years ago, Xiaomi has enjoyed considerable success over in China, with the company enjoying more market share than Apple, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.
